DEPARTMENT OF YOUTH SERVICES(SETWEL)

It is submitted that the Department of Youth Services / STEP in West Godavari District is called as SETWEL, which means Society for Employment & Training West Godavari Eluru and the District Collector, W.G.Dist., shall act as Chairman of SETWEL and the Chief Executive Officer is the controlling Officer.  The Department is under control of the Commissioner of Youth Services & Managing Director, APSTEP, Vijayawada and deliver its activities as per directions of the Commissioner.

Activities of Youth Services/STEP (SETWEL) Department

The following programmes and functions shall deliver by the SETWEL as submitted below:

1. Conducting of Divisional/District Level Youth Festivals

The Divisional Level Youth Festivals will be conducted in five divisions of West Godavari District and select first prize winners in cultural competitions in 18 events on yearly basis.

The district level youth festival will be conducted at district headquarters and select district level First prize winners of the cultural competitions among the first prize winners of Divisional Level Youth Festivals and send winners to State Level Youth festival for selection of state level winners.

2.State Level Youth Festival :

As per instructions of the Commissioner of Youth Services, Vijayawada, the State Level Youth Festival has been conducted at Eluru in West Godavari District from 29-01-2019 to 31-01-2019 successfully.

3.Conduction of Residential Integration Camps:

As per instructions of the Commissioner of Youth Services, Vijayawada, the residential Integration Camp shall be  conducted in West Godavari District by inviting 25 youth members from 13 districts of the state (325) for 5 days to create awareness on employment, self employment, startups, small scale industries, meditation, yoga, sports, etc.,

4.Conducting of Inter District Youth Exchange Programme:

As per instructions of the Commissioner of Youth Services, Vijayawada, the Inter District Youth Exchange Programmes shall be conducted by touring youth members to other districts to visit tourism places, culture, industries, agriculture, horticulture, aqua culture, etc., 50 members in each batch for 3 days on yearly basis.

5.Observance of National /International important Days:

As per instructions of the Commissioner of Youth Services, Vijayawada National & International Important Days shall be observed on yearly basis in coordination with all other line department duly involving the members of Youth Clubs/Associations, Non-Governmental Organizations, Nehru Yuva Kendra, NCC, NSS, etc.

6.Conduct of Disaster Management and First Aid Training programme:

As per instructions of the Commissioner of Youth Services, Vijayawada, Disaster Management and First Aid Training programme shall be conducted to Students & non students in the District in coordination Indian Red Cross Society.

7.Youth Parliament (Yuva Sabha)

As per instructions of the Commissioner of Youth Services, Vijayawada, Divisional Level & District Level Youth Parliament shall be conducted to improve leadership qualities among youth.

8.Yuva Mahostav :

As per instructions of the Commissioner of Youth Services, Vijayawada, National Youth Week (Yuva Mahostav) shall be conducted during Swami Vivekananda Birthday celebrations on 12^th January every year.

9.Air Force & Pre Army Recruitment selections

As per instructions of the Commissioner of Youth Services, Vijayawada, Air Force & Pre Army Recruitment selections and training shall be conducted as and when the recruitment notification announced by respective BROs.
